Before the flame
Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each burn. Always trim when the wax is cool, and remove any wick cuttings or other debris before lighting.
THE ART OF THE EVERYDAY
A few simple gestures make all the difference. Care for your candle, enjoy the fragrance, and give the vessel a life beyond the flame.
Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each burn. Always trim when the wax is cool, and remove any wick cuttings or other debris before lighting.
Allow the wax to melt across most of the surface on the first burn, without burning for longer than four hours. A little wax along the sides may melt down during later burns. Do not extend a burn just to melt every last edge.
Place your candle on a level, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts and anything flammable. Burn for no more than four hours at a time. Keep it within sight and out of reach of children and pets. If the flame becomes unusually high or flickers persistently, extinguish it, let it cool, and trim the wick.
Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame gently. Never use water or a lid to put out a candle. Allow the wax and vessel to cool completely before moving, trimming, or relighting.
Stop burning when ½ inch of wax remains. Once the vessel is completely cool, gently remove the remaining wax with a nonmetal tool and wash with warm, soapy water. Never pour wax down the drain. Use your empty vessel for small objects, pens, or a plant.
A LITTLE MORE GUIDANCE
A thin layer of wax on the vessel wall can be normal, particularly during early burns. It may melt during later burns as heat builds lower in the vessel. Keep each burn within the four-hour limit; do not try to force a full melt pool.
A long wick or a draft can cause a larger, unsteady flame and soot. Extinguish the candle, let it cool completely, then trim the wick to ¼ inch before relighting away from drafts. If heavy smoke or an unusually large flame persists, stop using the candle and contact us.
Keep your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. If it has a lid, replace it only once the candle has cooled completely to help keep the wax free of dust.
Use your vessel for decorative storage unless that specific vessel has been confirmed suitable for food contact. Cleaning away candle wax alone does not establish that it is safe for food or drinks.
